Wooden high-rise buildings have become reality. So have design projects taking on a life-cycle perspective working with a no-waste principle, and public spaces or even towns that take on the challenges of sustainable development for all citizens.

This is the most important week for Scandinavian design. Swedish Wood are involved in both online and offline activities during the week and we have chosen a selection of the most interesting activities if you want to get inspired by wood.

The President of the European Commission is highlighting it, the Commission’s Renovation Wave Communication as well. Yes, wood and its decisive contribution in greening our buildings is finally making its well-deserved way into the core of EU policy discussions!

The Swedish Wood Award, an architectural prize administered by Swedish Wood, is one of the nation’s largest and most widely known architectural competitions. The Swedish Wood Award 2020 received a total of 130 entries. Of these, the jury has visited over 40 buildings and drawn up a shortlist of 12 nominees.
